Another three points for the Wellmen at Penrhyncoch

The Wellmen returned from Penrhyncoch with 3 points after 1-0 victory

The match got underway and it was a good start by the Wellmen with Jamie Breese and Gareth Evans going close. The home side also had chances, luckily for Town, Owain Evans miss kicks in front of an open goal which would have given the home side the lead.
Penrhyncoch were playing good football and a good move ends with a dangerous ball into the box but Kieron Feenan is out to save well at the feet of Dion Phillips. The Wellmen were having a good spell of possession but didn’t create any clear chances and the Wellmen were thankful to goalkeeper Feenan after he was called into action once again with another fine save to deny the home side taking the lead.
Midway through the half, Town had their best chance to date, Leigh Jenkins pulled off a great save to deny Jake Cooke’s half volley from the edge of the box. Moments later, the home side get the ball in the net but Dion Philips was in an offside position. That let off lifted the visitors and a good move by Town saw Breese and Gareth Evans’ efforts blocked by the Penrhyncoch defenders, then another good save by Jenkins in the Penrhyncoch goal to deny Brady McGilloway after a good ball in by Danny Andrews in what turned out to be the last chance of the first half.
A few minutes into the second half, the Wellmen win a penalty as Beau Cornish is fouled in the box, Jamie Breese steps up to take but the keeper pulls off a great save, diving to his left to deny Breese opening the scoring.
Since the missed penalty, the Wellmen pressed looking for the opening goal, Brady McGilloway went close and also moments after coming on, the keeper saves well at the feet of Jake Roberts. Since he came on, Roberts looked lively and moments later, a lovely ball through for him to chase but his shot goes high over Jenkins goal. Another chance fell this time to Breese, he ran towards the goal but his fierce shot is blocked for a corner. It was all Holywell and a good spell saw Jenkins pull off another great save to deny Beau Cornish, then from the resulting corner, Danny Sullivan’s header smashes against the crossbar then the follow up is saved by Jenkins and the chance had gone.
With ten minutes of the half remaining, the Wellmen took the lead. A great ball through a crowded box by Jake Cooke finds Andrews who steers the ball past Jenkins to give Town a deserved lead. The supporters behind the goal, who had made the long journey to Mid Wales breathed a huge sigh of relief
As the game went into injury time, the Wellmen had their last chance of the half, Morgan Murray with a through ball to Jake Roberts but his hurried shot goes over the bar. The home side won a late corner deep into injury time which the keeper went up the field to try grab a late equaliser, but the Wellmens defence cleared any danger and the referee blew his whistle moments later and the points were Town’s!
