Metcalf started last season at Runcorn Town but returned to former club Chester Nomads midway through the season. He started his career at Wrexham and then moved onto a spell at Evostick League side Colwyn Bay.
A short spell playing over in America was next for Metcalf before returning to Colwyn Bay then onto Chester Nomads in the West Cheshire League, helping them to their highest ever finish as they were runners up in the West Cheshire League Division One before signing for Runcorn Town.
Metcalf has also had short spells at Llandudno and Flint Town United and was capped for England at U17 level.
Manager Gareth Sudlow added, "I’m delighted to make Andy my first signing for the club. Andy is a towering presence at the back and at 6ft 5 is a really imposing figure. I’ve known Andy for years and after watching him play for Colwyn Bay and Runcorn Town, I’m thrilled he has joined us for the forthcoming season."
