The game for underway and the opening exchanges saw both sides getting plenty of possession but neither team were able to break down the opponents and both keepers were not tested. The first chance fell to the visitors as Mason Blackwell-Jones was unable to connect with a good ball by Cai Roberts and Shaun Pearson was able to gather easily.

With 16 minutes on the clock, the Wellmen took the lead. A good ball by Jake Roberts released Jamie Breese, he burst forward and slotted teh ball past the keeper, and despite getting a hand to it, he was unable to prevent it going into the back of the net.
Moments later, Town very nearly doubled their lead, good play between Breese and Brady McGilloway saw McGilloways effort come back off the post, and the ball fell to Jake Cooke but he was unable to get his shot on target.
The goal made the game a lot livelier. Bangor had a chance to equalise, a good move saw the ball fall to Corrig McGonigle but his shot is brilliantly saved by Pearson, then the follow up shot is also saved well before Blackwell-Jones sees his effort go wide. another chance came the visitors way a couple of minutes later as Bangor break well and James Barry is through on goal but Pearson is out to save well and gets hurt under Barry’s challenge. The challenge meant Pearson couldn't continue and he was replaced by Ryan Woods.

The second half began the same way that the first half ended, with both sides having pelnty of possession. Town's first chance of the half fell to Jake Cooke, he controlled the ball well and ran at the defence, makes a bit of space but his shot is easily saved at the near post.
The visitors were enjoying a good spell and a corner from the right finds Tom Clarke but his header is saved well by Woods, then moments later, Clarke again had a free header at the far post but he put it wide of the post.

The Wellmen then won a free kick, Jake Roberts' kick is brilliantly saved well by Bradley Farrar for a corner which came to nothing, then another chance fell to Balckwell-Jones but Woods is on hand to save well. Moments later, a good corner in by Andrews finds Mike Pearson but his header is only inches wide. The last ten minutes saw the visitors throw everything at the Wellmen, but Town held on well and thwarted any real chances the visitors created. With 86 minutes on the clock, the visitors pulled one back through Blackwell-Jones to make it a nervy last few minutes for the home side.

With the game deep into injury time, a good ball to the far post see's Clarke get a header in on goal but it was saved, then same sort of ball to the far post beat everyone and went out for a goal kick.
