The Wellmen progressed into the next round of the NEWFA Challenge Cup after a 3-0 victory over Llay Welfare.

Starting with 5 changes to Saturday's line up against Bangor 1875, the Wellmen raced into a 7th minute lead through Danny Sullivan, who headed home from a free kick, and ten minutes later, Sullivan grabbed his second goal of the game, firing low into the bottom corner with a well taken goal.

Macauley Taylor, on his first start for the club since his move from Prestatyn Town, grabbed Town's third on 20 minutes after a miscommunication by the Llay goalkeeper and defender which saw Taylor tap in the third goal.

Despite chances for both teams in the second half, no further goals were scored and it was Holywell Town's name which was in the hat for the next round.

The other scores from last nights cup matches were as follows:-

Corwen 2-0 Brickfield Rangers
Broughton United 1-4 Buckley Town
Airbus Uk Broughton 5-0 Hawarden Rangers
Ruthin Town 3-3 Gresford Athletic (Ruthin Town win on pens)
Mold Alex 3-1 Flint Mountain
LEX X1 v Rhostyllen (Match Postponed)

The draw for the next round will be made over the next couple of weeks and as soon as we hear our opponents in the next round we will publish on our social media channels
