The Wellmen made it two wins in less than a week with a great 5-2 victory away to Llay Welfare

The game got underway and the Wellmen were kicking down hill for the first half and the first real chance of the game came on 12 minutes, and it fell to the Wellmen who took the lead through Jake Roberts, a great ball in by Danny Andrews found Roberts who fired a fierce shot into the top corner giving Michael Jones no chance in the Llay goal.

Two minutes later, the Wellmen had doubled their lead, and it was Jamie Breese who continued his great run of scoring form, chasing a Morgan Murray ball, he runs goalwards and the keeper comes out to try narrow the angle but Breese makes no mistake and slots the ball past Jones.

The home side's first chance of the game came a few minutes after the goal, a good cross to the far post but Rueben Teixeria's header goes wide of Shaun Pearson's goal. Holywell Town continued to press looking to add to their tally and Jake Roberts was unlucky to hit the side netting from a good position then Morgan Murray was unable to get his shot off after creating space on the edge of the box.

The home side pulled one back with half hour played, Biesensio Kamilos looping header dropped past Pearson dive to the right. A minute later, the home side were level. A poor back pass to Pearson went straight to Matthew Worrall and he took advantage and fired past Pearson. Llay were full of confidence after the two quick goals, and very nearly added a thrid a few minutes later, Worral's goalbound shot seemed to be going in but Tom Bibby was on hand to make a goal lone clearance to keep the scores level. The Wellmen lost striker Jamie Breese who went off injured and his replacement Brady McGilloway nearly made an instant impact, his ball found Andrews but his shot got blocked, and after a bit of a goal mouth scramble, the ball fell to Murray but his shot was blocked on the line and the ball was cleared.

The Wellmen went off at half time and knew they had to get back into their stride early and kicking up the hill made the task more difficult. But, the Wellmen were fast out of the blocks and regained the lead with barely a minute played through a bizarre goal. A high ball upfield beat he intended Morgan Murray, but as Michael Jones in the Llay goal went to the edge of his box to easily gather the ball, he underestimated the hard ground and the ball bounced over him, and the alert Morgan Murray was on hand to round him and tap the ball into an empty net.

The home side tried to get back into the game and their first chance of the half fell to Morgan Thomas-Sadler but his shot flew over the bar, then with an hour played, Town increased their advantage through the impressive Jake Cooke (pictured). Jake Roberts fed the ball through to Cooke in the box and from a tight angle, he fired the ball into the bottom corner of the net to the delight of the supporters behind that goal.

The Wellmen increased their lead further with around quarter of an hour to go. Substitute Ilan Ap Gareth fed a great ball through to Cooke to chase, he out runs his marker and slots the ball past the onrushing Jones to grab Town's 5th. It was nearly a 6th goal a few minutes before the end, Cooke burst to the byline and his low cross to Beau Cornish was intercepted by the keeper in a good save.

The referee blew for full time and it was another impressive performance by the Wellmen to record their second win in less than a week, and a special acknowledgement to Jake Cooke who must rate Llay's The Ring ground as one of his favourite grounds after scoring his 5th goal at the ground in the past two times the sides have met there.

The Wellmen will be looking to continue their winning run on Bank Holiday Monday as tehy welcome Caersws to the Bartons North Wales Stadium.
