Holywell Town welcome Caernarfon Town to Halkyn Road on Saturday for the HGA's match of the day.

This is still a must win game for us and we want to put as much pressure as we can on Caernarfon now.
- John Haseldin - Manager

After the disappointment of seeing the game called off last week due to parts of the pitch being unplayable, the Huws Gray Alliance League Leaders travel to Holywell Town looking for three more points in their quest to win the League after finishing runners up to Prestatyn Town last season.

The Wellmen currently sit 10 points behind the Cofi's with 2 games in hand, but victory on Saturday will close the gap to 7 points and put pressure on the leaders in their quest for the league title.

The Wellmen fell to a 4-2 defeat at Caernarfon Town back in November. The home side raced to a two goal lead within the first 10 minutes through Rhys Roberts and Clive Williams before Steve Lewis pulled one back with 12 minutes on the clock. Caernarfon increased their lead early in the second half through Roberts again, but Sam Jones reduced the arrears midway through the half from the penalty spot. Any hopes of the Wellmen getting a point were squashed on 77 minutes as Jay Gibbs sealed the points for the home side.

Manager John Haseldin welcomes back new signings Shaun Tuck and Lee Fowler to the squad, along with Matty Harvey, Danny Desormeaux and Gareth Sudlow who all return after missing the last match against Queens Park nearly a month ago, and also back is Mark Winslade who would have missed last week's game as he was away on holiday. Recent new signing Shaun Tuck will be hoping to cap his return to Halkyn Road with a goal.

The Wellmen's defence will have to be wary of Caernarfon Town's top scorers Nathan Craig and Jamie Breese and hopefully will stop them adding to their goal tally for the season.

After last week's postponement, Manager John Haseldin said this week,""I'm just relieved we've got the fixture date turned around quickly and that it's not been pushed to the back end of the season when it could have been a dead rubber.

"From a football point of view, nothing's changed for us. This is still a must win game for us and we want to put as much pressure as we can on Caernarfon now.

"It's up to us now to go out there an give it everything to try and make it an exciting end to the season. Hopefully we'll get a good crowd down for this one and we can do ourselves justice with an excellent performance.

“We’ve got games in hand but if we want to be up there challenging for the title, we need to be winning this type of game. Caernarfon are a quality side with a settled squad who are all playing for each other and we’ll need to be at our best to beat them."

Saturday's match kicks off at 2.30pm and the clubhouse will be open from 12 noon. On paper it promises to be a great match, with a good crowd and not to be missed. So please come along to support your local side and hopefully, it will be the Wellmen who are celebrating the victory come teatime on Saturday afternoon.
