The central defender informed his squad of his decision, due to family reasons, prior to Tuesday evening’s victory over Gresford Athletic. The club would like to express their thanks for his hard work over the last few months.
The club would also like to announce that former manager John Haseldin has re-taken the reigns with immediate effect.
Sudlow said, "It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided to step down as 1st Team Manager of Holywell Town Football Club. The demands it takes to be a manager are extreme and with a very young family I can’t give both the attention they deserve at this moment in time. I would like to thank Andy Lewis, Dave Sweet and John Haseldin who have been unbelievable since I took the job, Chairman Sean Elliott for giving me the opportunity, all the volunteers behind the scenes that make this great club what it is, I can’t thank you enough. Also I would like to thank the players for their efforts and lastly the Holywell Town fans that have been brilliant all the way through, continue getting behind the side, as the whole squad really appreciate your support.
Chairman Sean Elliott added, “It is sad to see Gareth stand down as 1st team Manager but as a club, we fully understand and accept the reasons behind his decision. I would like to place on record my thanks for his efforts as player & manager over the last few years and wish him all the best for the future. Thanks again".
