Victory for the Wellmen at Prestatyn Town

The Wellmen picked up another 3 points after beating Prestatyn Town 1-0 on Friday evening.

The game got underway and the Wellmen were first out of the blovks and nearly took a 2nd minute lead, great ball through to Jamie Breese but his first time shot was palmed away by Prestatyn keeper Robbie Williams. The wellmen continued to pile on the pressure and next clear chance fell to Myles Hart, but his goalbound header was cleared to safety.
The home side tried to create chances but the Wellmen’s defence stood firm and thwarted any danger which came their way, but the Wellmen were desperate to open the scoring and still were creating chances, a good corner from the left found Tom Bibby but he headed wide, then another good ball up to the dangerous Breese saw him fire a shot inches wide. Then with a couple of minutes before the break, Williams again saved the home side as he pulled off a great save to again deny Breese.
Despite having the majority of the play and the best chances, the Wellmen walked off the pitch at half time on level terms with the home side and hoped that their fortunes would change int eh second half.
The half was a few minutes old when Holywell Town had their first real opportunity of the second half, a good ball across the box by Breese found Luca Hogan but his header went inches wide.
The deadlock was broken on 63 minutes. A good move saw the ball fall to Ryan Edwards, he delivered a great ball into the box and found Jamie Breese who controlled well before smashing the ball past Williams to give Town a deserved lead.
was creating allsorts of problems for the Prestatyn Town defence and again he went close, this time heading the ball against the post from an Ilan ap Gareth corner. The Wellmen had a couple more chances to increase their lead but were unable to find the back of the net and the referee blew for full time and the Wellmen walked off with another 3 points and win number 16 of the season under their belts.
