The Wellmen welcomed Llandudno to the Bartons North Wales Stadium looking to bounce back to winning ways after last weeks defeat to Denbigh Town

The visitors got the better of the opening few minutes, pushing forward and trying to create a chance on Ryan Woods’ goal, but despite the pressure they didn’t test the Wellmen keeper.
Town’s first chance of the game came on 10 minutes wich resulted in the opening goal. Dany Andrews floated a free kick into the far post, Danny Sullivan was there to head the goal back and it was met by Tom Bibby who headed the ball home to give Town the lead.
Moments later, another chance came the Wellmen’s way, Beau Cornish firing wide from outside the area, then the visitors had a chance but Adam Stephen’s header flies over Woods’ crossbar. Jake Cooke went close with a flick on from Danny Andrews’ cross after good work by Brady McGilloway down the wing, then Llandudno won a free kick just outside the area, the ball is crossed in by Anthony Stephens but Mo Ali’s header goes over the bar. Town had a great chance moments later, Jamie Breese doing well and his lay off to Andrews see’s Jones pull off a great save, then the dangerous Andrews goes close a minute or so later but his shot flies inches wide of the post.
The Wellmen grabbed a second goal with around a few minutes of the half remaining, Andrews with a lovely through ball for Breese to chase, he controls then slots it past the advancing keeper to double Town’s lead and a two goal advantage at the half time interval.
The second half was only a minute old when Town grabbed a third. Jake Cooke found himself in space and burst forward and fires low into the bottom corner to increase Town’s advantage. The visitors then had a chance on the hour mark, Alex Boss burst forward and gets his shot off but it sails wide of Woods post, then Boss again was involved a few minutes later, his header cleared off the line by Tom Bibby, then Ross Weaver saw his shot deflected out for a corner which came to nothing. The pressure paid off in the 65th minute as Omar Ibrahim pulled on back, firing home from close range.
The Wellmen soon got back to putting pressure on the Llandudno goal, with Winslade creating a chance from the edge of the box but he shot over, then Llandudno won a free kick on the left which was floated over towards the far post, but Ali’s header was easily saved by Woods. The Wellmen then made a substitution with the excellent Jack Baines-Hughes replaced by Morgan Murray. The Sub nearly made an instant impact on the game, he ran forward and was brought down on the edge of the box. Murray picked himself up and fired in a low shot towards the bottom corner and Jones did well to dive to his left to palm the ball around the post for a corner which came to nothing. Town had a good spell of the play for the next section of the half, with Murray nearly scoring direct from a corner then Breese thought he had grabbed his second goal of the game with a few minutes remaining but the assistant had his flag up and the goal was ruled out for offside.
Llandudno pressed forward looking for a late goal but was to no avail and the referee blew for full time and the points were Town’s and saw the lads climb back up to 2nd in the JD Cymru League North.
The Wellmen supporters man of the match was awarded to Jack Baines-Hughes for a great performance by the young defender. Well done Jack!
