Supporters who were at Saturday’s game would have noticed a familiar face back in the Wellmen Dugout.

Former Manager John Haseldin has returned to the club as part of the Management Team late last week, and as you may have saw on Saturday, was in the dugout for the game against Llanrhaeadr YM.

Haseldin will not need any introduction to the Wellmen supporters having been in the management hot seat for the past 6 years.

Manager Gareth Sudlow explained, “At the beginning of last week, Darren Moss announced that with setting up a new coaching business, he was unable to commit in the way he and I would like so unfortunately he couldn’t carry on in his role at the club and I would like to thank Daz for his help during his spell at Halkyn Road.

I needed to find someone to join the management team and after a long conversation with John, we both decided it was a great idea that he came onboard going forward with myself, Andy and Sweety as part of the Management team. I wanted someone with the hunger and desire to help take the squad forward but most of all a winner, and Johnny as we all know fits them perfectly. He knows the club inside out and I am delighted Johnny is back with us. Welcome back JH”

John Haseldin added, “It was not something I could see myself doing again so soon but when I spoke to Suds after the cup defeat last week at Flint Town, I offered to come in with him and try and help steady the ship. Most of the players have played for me before and they know exactly the levels of commitment and performance I expect from them.
There is quality in the squad but will be looking to strengthen in certain areas so we have good competition for places and we can build on last Saturdays win.
It felt good to be back at Halkyn Road and the supporters were brilliant Saturday, hopefully a few more will come back through the gate now we have our first win as now more than ever is when the team needs them.”

The club would like to welcome JH back to Halkyn Road and as mentioned, hopefully the supporters will turn out in force for Friday nights under lights match against Conwy Borough, Kick off 7.30pm
